Navy Football Recruiting

Posted: February 2, 9:21 pm | (permalink) | (0 comments)

National Signing Day is Wednesday, Feb. 3 and Division I schools throughout the country will be announcing recruiting classes. The Naval Academy does not offer athletic scholarships and thus does not have recruits sign a National Letter-of-Intent. However, Navy still tries to finalize its recruiting class on Wednesday in the spirit of National Signing Day.

The Capital has been keeping tabs on Navy's recruiting class and has been researching some of the names that surfaced. Profiles of certain prospects will be posted in this blog over the next couple weeks so keep close tabs.

Based on information obtained so far, it appears some of Navy's top direct-entry recruits are Florida linebacker Vinnie Mauro, Nevada linebacker Evan Palelei, California center Nolan O'Sullivan, Texas defensive lineman Brice Musgrove, Texas defensive back A.J. Pouncey and North Carolina fullback Aaron Crumbley.

The Capital will post profiles of these players and more beginning today and continuing until the end of the month. Following is a list of Navy football recruits that has been compiled from recruiting websites and articles that have appeared in newspapers and other publications around the country. Anyone with a name to add to the list should e-mail bwagner@capitalgazette.com.
