Direct-Entry Recruit List

Posted: February 4, 6:40 am | (permalink) | (0 comments)

It's taken almost a week and lots of research along with many phone calls and e-mails from readers, but The Capital believes it has nailed down Navy's direct-entry football recruiting list. Navy will not formally announce its incoming recruiting class until after plebe summer is completed in July.

If this list is complete, it would mark one of the smallest classes for Navy in quite some time. In an interview with The Capital, head coach Ken Niumatalolo said the reason for that was a higher rate of retention at the Naval Academy Prep School, which meant fewer slots for direct-entry recruits.

This list contains 19 prospects with the name of the Navy assistant coach that recruited the player listed in parantheses. Anyone who knows of additional direct-entry recruits should send an e-mail to bwagner@capitalgazette.com.
