Keith McBride Info

Posted: February 5, 5:22 pm | (permalink) | (0 comments)

Navy's coaching staff considers Tennessee standout Keith McBride as one of the team's top "direct-entry" recruits. Head coach Ken Niumatalolo said the staff was looking for a bigger, stronger type of slotback to bolster the current crop that features a slew of small, quick runners.

McBride, a sturdy 6-foot, 210-pounder, certainly fits the bill. McBride has good size, but also possesses tremendous speed as evidenced by the fact he captured the 200-meter state championship in Tennessee. He has run the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds and also boasts an impressive 3.7 grade point average.

McBride, who led Memphis University School to the Class 2A state finals, also had scholarship offers from Arkansas State, Army, Duke and Tulane.

The Capital will be writing an in-depth profile of McBride with quotes from the player and his high school coaching, but for now check out these pictures from MaxPreps and the highlight tape from Rivals.com.
