 Recruiting Territories Posted: February 5, 8:25 pm | (permalink) | (1 comments) The Navy recruiting article that appeared in Wednesday's edition of The Capital contained one inaccuracy. It was stated that assistant coach Ashley Ingram recruits Alabama for Navy. That would make some sense since Ingram played and coached at North Alabama. However, assistant Keith Jones was already recruiting Alabama when Ingram joined the staff. Jones had developed strong ties in the state and landed some good players so head coach Ken Niumatalolo decided not to make a switch. So it is Jones, not Ingram, who should get credit for recruiting several members of this year's class and the likes of Jarod Bryant, Hal Bowron, Bryce French and Kwesi Mitchell in the past. Jones also handles Mississippi, Louisiana and the Florida panhandle. Ingram recruits Georgia, Tennessee and Kentucky. -Bill Wagner |
