Gay Marriage Snowball

I have an article today (http://www.hometownannapolis.com/news/top/2010/02/25-34/Maryland-recognizes-out-of-state-gay-marriages.html) dealing with AG Doug Gansler’s opinion on same-sex marriage and its assorted drama, but one interesting aspect is how the importance of it seemed to snowball yesterday (The Washington Post mentioned the same phenomenon this morning).

Upon first reading, it seemed to be just a judgment by Gansler on how a Court of Appeals ruling would play out, but he said later in the day it means state agencies will now recognize gay marriages just like heterosexual marriages for services.

Regardless, the AG recognizes it won’t be long before the whole thing is challenged in court, so the issue is far from settled.
