While customers and co-workers hail Dean Shover's floral creations as one-of-a-kind, versatile designs, he doesn't make too much of a big deal out of it.

"This actually comes so natural that it's easy," he said. "It's in the blood, you either have it or you don't."

The designer at A Blooming Basket in Millersville is a top 10 finalist in floral magazine Flowers&'s 25th annual design contest. This year, entries had to be "An Affordable Pleasure" - designs under $50 retail.

Shover's arrangement was priced at about $47.
