Even before the staff at the Brooklyn Park Senior Center arrives to work at 8 a.m., Joe Bentz already has been at the center for an hour, making coffee and getting the kitchen ready for the day. And he's repeated this routine every weekday for 16 years, he said. Bentz, 77, of Glen Burnie, and 95-year-old Ruby Bastien, of Brooklyn Park, were recognized Tuesday for being the center's longest-serving volunteers, Director Carolyn Scurry-Boyd said.
