The Woman's Club of Linthicum Heights will celebrate its 70th anniversary by holding an opening tea at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at its clubhouse, 110 N. Hammonds Ferry Road.

In keeping with the event's theme, "The Way We Were," members and guests are urged to wear hats and gloves from the 1939 era.

The guest speaker at the opening tea will be the Maryland General Federation of Women's Club's Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership representative, Patrick Carey. The Linthicum Heights club helps to send local high school sophomores selected by the schools and the club to HOBY leadership seminars.
