Pasadena: Doctor and mom now a published author

Somewhere between raising two children and serving as an emergency room physician at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Dr. Joan Lehmann managed to write a novel. Now that "Heaven Below" has been published, she has to make time for book signings.

In 2005, Lehmann started writing the love story set in the 1930s during the depression about a coal miner named Sean who moves from Pottsville, Pa., to Maryland. While working as a bell hop at Lord Baltimore Hotel, he falls in love with a maid.
