Buildings evacuated after gas explosion GLEN BURNIE - Three apartment buildings on Old Stage Rod were evacuated Thursday afternoon after a small gas explosion, county Fire Department officials said. A technician for Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. was called to the Quarterfield Apartments at 391 Old Stage Road at about 3 p.m. to investigate an odor of gas coming from one of the buildings, said Lt. Stuart Peters, a county Fire Department spokesman. The technician evacuated one building and was working on a leaking valve when there was an explosion.
