Pet Rescue of Maryland will participate in an adoption event that will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Petco store, 6631 Ritchie Highway, just south of the Baltimore Beltway.

The public will have the opportunity to meet some dogs, cats, puppies and kittens available for adoption and learn about the organization's adoption process and policies.

The organization is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats through rescue, fostering, rehabilitation, adoption and public education, with the focus being on the welfare of each animal.
