A group of young adults tried to burn down an abandoned movie theater in Pasadena earlier this year because they had nothing better to do on a Thursday night, prosecutors said.

"They were bored," Assistant State's Attorney Warren Davis told the court yesterday as the first of four defendants charged with the Feb. 20 fire that threatened the old Premier Cinemas appeared in Circuit Court.
