Police chase went from Gambrills to Kent Island

A Silver Spring man who led county police on a 32-mile high-speed chase over the Bay Bridge in December was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years in prison.

Jamar Lewis Gomez, 22, was convicted of armed carjacking and use of a handgun during the commission of a felony as part of a plea agreement with the county State's Attorney's Office. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped several related criminal and traffic charges and agreed to seek a sentence of between 15 and 25 years.

Gomez carjacked a motorist shortly before 11 p.m. Dec. 3 at Krazy Otto's Sports Saloon at 1357 Defense Highway in Gambrills, according to...
