Maryland Attorney General Douglas Gansler has made no secret of his personal views on gay marriage. A year ago, at a state legislative hearing, he called it a "moral imperative and, logically, a historical inevitability." Nonetheless, Gansler was just doing his job last week when he released a 50-page analysis prompted by a question posed by a Montgomery County state senator: Should Maryland recognize same-sex marriages legally performed in other jurisdictions?
