Last night’s Class 4A East Region championship game between Old Mill and Arundel was proof positive the caliber of football in Anne Arundel County has vastly improved over the past decade. Both teams performed at an extremely high level and left no doubt they could compete with any program in the state while combining on a back-and-forth thriller that may go down as the greatest game in county history. The undefeated Wildcats and underdog Patriots went toe-to-toe for four quarters and two overtimes in an amazing offensive slugfest that showcased some top shelf talent from both schools.
