| Brooklyn man gets 30 years for murder

A Brooklyn drug dealer with a long criminal record was sentenced Monday to 30 years in prison for the fatal shooting of a father of two last year in Annapolis. That was the maximum sentence Deonte Desmund Boyd, 25, could receive for the second-degree murder of Michael Lee Thompson Sr. under a plea agreement with the state. "God is good," said Ga'Juanah Holland-Thompson, Thompson's wife and the mother of one of his children. She hoped the sentence would bring closure.
