Firefighters attempt rescue of wayward Pasadena cockatoo

Amanda Lott's pet cockatoo Puffy has no problem flying high in the air.

She just has trouble coming back down to earth.

"She'll take flight, but doesn't know how to come down," said Lott, who's owned the exotic bird for two years.

She thinks it's because the bird is domesticated and not used to flying.

So Lott's mother, Joan, panicked when she had Puffy outside her Pasadena home last week and she flew away, soaring from tree to tree and finally landing in a neighbor's tree, on a branch about 75 feet in the air.

And she stayed there.
