On Tuesday, the Northern Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce will host its 24th annual Community Safety Awards. The event will honor individuals from 23 public safety agencies, doubling the number of awards from previous years. The goal behind the expansion was to reach out to public safety officers who don't often get the recognition they deserve: Animal control officers, bike patrol officers, security officers at Northrop Grumman and others.
