At 10:30 yesterday morning, eight operators were gathered around a crowded conference room table full of phones, lap tops and information sheets. Just two hours after lines had opened, they had nailed down 450 appointments available next week for the county's latest shipment of H1N1 nasal mist vaccine. But the phones were still ringing. And ringing. As operators took barely a second to breathe between calls, a supervisor reminded them to make sure they have their scripts ready to break the news that all appointments were filled.
