Expo to focus on 4,000 slots jobs

Nov. 19 job fair set weeks before crucial zoning vote

Cordish Cos. will offer details next week on 4,000 jobs it says would be created by its planned slots casino at Arundel Mills, a show of confidence as the County Council moves toward a crucial vote on the proposal.

Joe Weinberg, a managing partner with the Baltimore developer, said the company expects to fill 1,500 permanent jobs and 2,500 temporary construction jobs on the project. Cordish hopes to hire a majority of those workers from Anne Arundel County.

The Career and Vendor Information Expo for Power Plant Entertainment, a Cordish subsidiary, will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 19 at the Arundel Mills mall food...
