A 64-year-old woman was killed and an SHA employee injured Monday afternoon as they stood at the scene of an accident that happened moments earlier on Ritchie Highway in Severna Park.

Linda Lee Henschen of Chestertown became the 11th pedestrian to die on county roads this year, the highest number in more than five years.

Seven of the fatalities were on north county roads, including two last weekend.

County police said Henschen was driving a 2007 Honda Odyssey on Ritchie Highway when she was involved in a minor crash with a 2008 Volvo station wagon.
