State officials tout new laws, decrease in deaths

Touting a drop in drunken driving deaths in recent years and the state's tougher laws, Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown joined family members of those killed in alcohol-related car crashes in a celebration of remembrance this week.

One by one, families brought forth pictures of loved ones who had been killed in drunken driving crashes on state roads.

Paula and Jerry Celentano of Glen Burnie will never forget the night in 2001 when they found out their daughter was involved in a serious car crash with a drunken driver.

It was Nov. 30, 2001, when Alisa Celentano, 18, was riding in a van with friends on Route 175 in Gambrills....
