| ShopRite to bring 200 jobs to Glen Burnie

The county's first ShopRite Supermarket will open this fall in Glen Burnie, creating 200 jobs at a time when unemployment is at record high, company officials said yesterday. The grocery store will fill a vacancy at Chesapeake Square Shopping Center on Ritchie Highway created when the Kmart closed in December, said Robert Pollokoff, president of the Owings Mills-based Fedder Co. The center is owned by principals of the Fedder Co. and the Briarwood Group. "This will bring back the regular shopper, the shopper who comes to the center a couple of times a week," Pollokoff said.
