Store robbed

A man robbed the Liberty Mart early Monday morning at gunpoint, county police said.

The man entered the store at 1250 Crain Highway just after 3 a.m. producing a silver pistol and demanding money.

The clerk told police that the robber came into the counter area, ordered him to open the cash register and then ordered him to turn and face the opposite direction. He told the clerk he would shoot him if he turned around, police said.

The robber took an unknown amount of cash and ran toward Crain Court Apartments. He was described as black, 5 feet 6 inches tall to 5 feet 8 inches tall and...
