Open state jobs will disappear and the state police will have to freeze some positions. Medicaid recipients will still be limited on the number of days covered in a hospital. Anne Arundel Community College, Laurel Park, county libraries and new community programs for mentally ill and developmentally disabled children will fight for smaller pools of money. Those reductions are in the $280 million budget cuts Gov. Martin O'Malley revealed yesterday as part of his effort to fix Maryland's $1.5 billion deficit next year.
