Starr treatment planned for Arundel

Arundel High School athletic director Bernie Walter announced Tuesday that Jeff Starr, former girls basketball coach at Annapolis, has taken over the boys basketball program at the Gambrills school.

"Jeff is very experienced and we're looking forward to what he'll bring to our school," said Walter, who interviewed three other candidates for the position.

Starr, a 30-year-old Baltimore resident, graduated from Arundel in 1995. He is a business teacher at Old Mill.

Starr will replace former coach Tim Poole, who left Arundel this year to coach at South River, his alma mater.
