| Blob's Park closing after 70 years in Jessup

Blob's Park, a community landmark in Jessup for more than seven decades, will close sometime next year, a family spokesman said yesterday. John Eggrel, manager of the German beergarden, said this month's Octoberfest celebration would be the last staged by the business. He would not say when the business would shut down, or comment on the reason why. Rumors have circulated on the fate Blob's Park since the death of Mr. Eggrel's mother, Katherine Eggerl Peters, earlier this year.
