The 14-year-old Pasadena girl killed Friday while trying to cross Ritchie Highway to reach a popular bike trail is being mourned this week as a bright and generous spirit.

Ashley Nicole Meyers was on her bicycle trying to cross the busy highway at Hamburg Street at about 5:45 p.m. when she was hit. She suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical center where she was pronounced dead at 6:25 p.m.
