Next week, County Councilman Daryl Jones and school board member Ned Carey will join other county and community leaders for a celebratory signing of the application to create an art and entertainment district in Brooklyn Park. If approved by the Maryland State Arts Council, the 92-acre district would provide tax breaks and other incentives to encourage development of art and arts-themed businesses, such as shops, galleries, studios, offices and homes. The district would be anchored around the Chesapeake Arts Center. Years in the making, it's fair to say this may be Jones' biggest accomplishments for his district so far. Lot's...
