A judiciary oversight commission has issued a private reprimand for a judge convicted of illegally dumping landfill rubble along the shoreline of his Riviera Beach home.

The Maryland Commission on Judicial Disabilities posted the reprimand yesterday, which said Baltimore City District Court Judge Askew W. Gatewood, Jr. violated three cannons of judicial conduct when he pled not-guilty to criminal charges in the environmental dumping case.

A secretary at Gatewood's office said the judge "had nothing to say" about the reprimand.
