Hostage standoff ends peacefully PASADENA - A man who neighbors say lost his job recently surrendered to police yesterday afternoon after taking his parents hostage inside their home for five hours, county police said. Police took the man into custody about 2 p.m., confiscating four rifles from the attic of his home in the 7800 block of Camp Road. He was taken for an emergency psychiatric evaluation. "It was determined that he did have his mother and father, in fact, held hostage but neither victims sustained injuries in the incident," said Justin Mulchay, police spokesman.
