For 93 years Crownsville's Rising Sun Inn, 1090 Cecil Ave., has been blessed with guardians to help preserve the historic structure constructed in the mid-1700s. Previously owned by the Baldwin family, a well-known name in the county, the inn was turned over as a gift to the Ann Arundel Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1916. The chapter is named for Lady Anne Arundell, the wife of Cecilius Calvert second Lord Baltimore, and was organized in 1911.
