The local 100 Club chapter honored 10 public safety officials Monday during an annual ceremony that recognizes unsung heroes.

The 2009 Duke G. Aaron Memorial Scholarship Award Winner was Shannon Wawzeniak, a firefighter and paramedic with the Ferndale Volunteer Fire Department.
