| Political notes: Delegate must pay $10,800 in damages

EDITOR'S NOTE: Political Notes is a weekly look and government and political news. A county jury this week ruled Del. Tony McConkey in 2006 intentionally violated a state law designed to protect homeowners in foreclosure. The jury, however, ordered the Severna Park Republican to pay his victim only about $11,000 in damages - far less than the $1.5 million Teresa Milligan's attorneys sought this week during a three-day trial.
