Former Northeast student aims for championship this week

All through the years of playing competitive golf - and winning her share of tournaments - Stephanie Connelly has always been her own biggest critic.

But even Connelly had to take a moment to bask in her circumstances during the NCAA East Regional competition last weekend at the University of Florida.

After an opening-round 73 that left her in 21st place, Connelly, a senior at the University of Central Florida, shot 69-68 over the final two rounds to finish second by a shot.
