On Monday, our community will mark Memorial Day. You hear a lot of hogwash about this holiday, how it's just another day off or how most of us forget its meaning. The people in Sunday's annual Memorial Day Parade in Glen Burnie knew exactly who they were honoring - local men who died in our nation's service. To this generation of county residents, no memorial is more poignant than the one at Fort Smallwood Park in Pasadena. The flag pole, nine dogwood trees and nine bronze markers honor local servicemen who lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003 - Sgt. 1st Class James J. Stoddard of Crofton, Cpl....
