| 85-year-old woman dies in Riviera Beach crash

An 85-year-old Pasadena woman died yesterday in a four-vehicle crash in Riviera Beach after her son fell asleep at the wheel and ran into oncoming traffic, county police said. Irene Ratcliff was pronounced dead at the scene of the pileup at Fort Smallwood Road near Carroll Road shortly after the 10:34 a.m. accident. Charlie Arnall, a mechanic was working at the Shell Station on the corner when he heard the collision and ran to scene, fire extinguisher in hand. "It could have been lot of worse if that fire extinguisher wasn't hanging on the wall," he said. "There was gas everywhere and flames coming out." Police... This story has expired!
