As many businesses cut back and some close, Wal-Mart keeps trucking along.

With sales that continue to grow, the company is remodeling approximately 70 percent of its existing stores based on customer feedback, including the location at Arundel Mills.

"Right now, your drivers in retail are food and electronics," said Edwin Ortiz, manager of the store in Hanover. "That's where the money's at now."
