Ravens Roost 18, formerly known as Colt Corral 18, will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a bull and shrimp feast from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday at Michael's Eighth Avenue, 7220 Grayburn Drive.
Special guests at the event include Baltimore Colts Hall of Fame players John Mackey and Lenny Moore.
Tickets cost $40.
Music will be provided by the band Straight Ahead. The menu includes pit-roasted beef, turkey and ham, pork barbecue, steamed shrimp, popcorn shrimp, shrimp Creole, rice, hot dogs and chili, vegetables, potato salad, coleslaw, iced sheet cake, draft beer, coffee, tea and soda.
The event also will include a silent auction, door prizes, wheels of chance, raffles and autographs from other National Football League players who will be attending the fundraiser.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the John Mackey Foundation.

Basket bingo
The Glen Burnie High School Indoor Color Guard will sponsor a Mother's Day basket bingo tomorrow in the cafeteria of Monsignor Slade Regional Catholic School, 120 Dorsey Road.

Lifeguard training
The North Arundel Aquatic Center, 7888 Crain Highway, will offer the American Red Cross lifeguard course.
The cost is $170. Advance registration is required.
Classes will be offered from 4 to 9 p.m. May 21, 22 and 27, and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 24 and 25. Participants must attend all five sessions and pass a written and water test to receive certification.
Participants must be ages 15 or older and able to pass a swim test that includes swimming for 300 yards and retrieving an object in the water.

Bus trip
The Eternal Quilters will host a bus trip to the Quilt Extravaganza in Harrisburg, Pa., on Sept. 5. The show features over 600 quilts on display and 200 vendors.
The cost of the trip is $34, which includes bus transportation, gratuity and show admission. The bus will leave at 8:30 a.m. from the Cromwell Light Rail station and will return home at 5:30 p.m.

4-H camp
The University of Maryland Cooperative Extension Service is accepting registration for the Anne Arundel County 4-H camp July 27 to Aug. 1 at the Western Maryland 4-H Center.
The camp is open to youth ages 8 to 12 as of Jan. 1, 2008.
Camp activities include team building, natural resources, campfires, recreation, crafts, water sports and cooperative learning, as well as special interest classes.

Fun summer school
Glen Burnie Baptist School will offer a summer extension program June 9 through Aug. 8 at the school, 7823 Oakwood Road.
Students will brush up on academics during the summer sessions and participate in fun activities such as arts and crafts, story time, music, sports, cookouts, water days, physical fitness, field trips and special lunches.
The program is open to children in pre-kindergarten through grade six. Students who are currently enrolled in the school's program for 3-year-olds are also welcome.
Parents may register students to attend the entire summer or just selected weeks. The program will be open from 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tuition is $125 per week. The registration fee is $70. Students will receive two shirts with their paid registration.
Free morning care will be provided from 7 to 8:15 a.m. Extended care from 3:15 to 5 p.m. will be available. The cost is $30 per week.

Once all of the bids are placed, a bidding number will be randomly drawn. Numbers will continue to be drawn until there is a winner.
