Josi Osborn, founder of the Glen Burnie Toastmasters Club, was honored recently at the club's celebration of its 25th anniversary.
Special guests at the celebration included Oscar Zalamia, district governor; Luella Wilburn, district chaplain; Donna Braun, Division C assistant governor; Frances Zalamia, Area 34 governor; and Davis Schultz, Area 33 governor.
The club's new toastmasters - John Tedore, Mike Sipes, Al Schmidt and Joe Napier - were the speakers for the evening.
Toastmasters International has about 9,000 clubs and 200,000 members worldwide. The group provides a communication and leadership development program for its members.
The Glen Burnie club's next meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the North County Area library, 1010 Eastway.

Helping kids grieve
The Helping Children with Grief and Loss program will be held at Marley Middle School at 10 Davis Court from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
It is offered by the School Social Workers of Anne Arundel County Schools.

Bull and shrimp feast
Tomorrow is the last day to purchase tickets for Glen Lutheran Church's bull roast and shrimp feast that will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. May 18 at the Severna Park Elks' Lodge, 160 Truck House Road.
Tickets cost $38.50 for teens and adults and $19.25 for children ages 4 to 12. There is no charge for children ages 3 and younger to participate.
A cash bar will be available for adults.
The menu features pit beef, steamed shrimp, fried chicken, hot dogs, appetizers, salads, side dishes, desserts, beer, soda, coffee and tea.
The event also will have door prizes, game wheels, raffles and entertainment provided by radio personality Detour Dave Sandler.

The Sun Valley Improvement and Recreation Association will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the Freetown Elementary School media center at 7904 Freetown Road.
