Saturday Track: Spalding sweeps meet at McDonogh

Archbishop Spalding swept the top three spots in the two-mile and qualified 12 athletes for the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association championships at the McDonogh Invitational.
Zach Sullivan ran the two-mile run in 9:48.60 and was followed by Trevor Keen (9:52.50) and Ryan Topita (9:55.50),

Other Cavaliers qualifiered are: Jon Graziano (100-meter run, 200 run, 400 run); Phil Mosco (400 run, high jump); Kyle Baker (100 run, 200 run); Ryan Struss (shot put); Dave Isaken (discus, shot put); Ryan Daniel (discus); Andrew Montoya (110 high hurdles, 300 intermediate hurdles); Franco Greco (110 high hurdles, 300 intermediate hurdles); Gary Sullivan (110 high hurdles, 300 intermediate hurdles).

Archbishop Spalding will be represented by its relay teams in the 400, 800, 1600 and 3200.

"I'm very pleased with this year's team," Cavaliers coach Andy Witte said. "We had an undefeated season and won the Patriot games. We've got a nice team going into the championships."
