Community Baptist Church and St. John United Methodist Church are getting together to offer a joint, two-day revival at 7 p.m. tomorrow and Friday at the Lloyd Keaser Community Center, 5757 Belle Grove Road.
Guest speakers and musical programs will be presented by both churches.
The Rev. Susan A. Spears of St. John United Methodist Church will be the speaker tomorrow with a musical program presented by the Joyful Praise chorus from Community Baptist Church.
On Friday, the guest speaker will be Rev. Milton Lemon from Community Baptist Church and the musical program will be presented by the St. John United Methodist Church choir.

Crabs and Christmas
St. Athanasius Roman Catholic Church, 4708 Prudence St., recently announced two events on its fundraising calendar.
The date and time has been set for St. Athanasius' annual crab cake dinner. The popular feast will be served from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 16 in the hall. This year's menu includes crab soup, two crab cakes, French fries, coleslaw, hot vegetables, rye bread, rolls with butter, crackers, desserts, coffee, iced tea and lemonade. Beer will be available for adults to purchases.
During the dinner there will be a 50-50 raffle, instant bingo games, a cake wheel and a raffle for a 32-inch, flat panel, LCD, high definition television.
Tickets cost $18 for adults and $8 for children younger than age 12. Carry-out meals will be available for $18.
The church requests that, in order to plan appropriately, people purchase tickets in advance.

There are only a few seats left for the St. Athanasius Women's Club's trip to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, featuring the Rockettes, at the First Mariner Arena in Baltimore on Dec. 7.
The trip costs $125 and includes transportation to and from the show and a buffet dinner at Cookie's Bay Meadow Restaurant. The bus will leave the church parking at 11 a.m. and return at approximately 5 p.m. Reservations with deposits are a must.

VBS programs
Two local churches recently announced their vacation Bible school programs.
St. John Lutheran Church's program will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Aug. 1 in the church hall at 226 Washburn Ave. This year's theme is "The Rainforest Adventure," which will have children hearing stories, making crafts, playing games and learning rainforest-themed tunes during their time at the school. Each day will offer a new Bible story to explore through fun activities.

Children ages 4 through fourth grade can have fun while learning on a mini safari adventure during the two-day vacation Bible school from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 4 and 5 at St. Athanasius Roman Catholic Church, 4708 Prudence St.
