Critical confusion Back on Aug. 13, I requested that the Anne Arundel County Department of Inspections and Permits fully disclose the zoning laws pertaining to homes located in the 200-foot "Critical Area Buffer" in the Maryland Gazette. Not surprisingly, there has been no response. If you live within 200 feet of the bay, a river, a stream or any other tidal water, you are most likely in the Critical Area Buffer.
