Spalding star leads pack at Doc Jones

Zach Sullivan will never grow tired of this.

Archbishop Spalding's star runner crossed the finish line 19 seconds ahead of Mount Hebron's Constantine Matsakis Saturday to capture his first title at the 36th annual Doc Jones Cross Country Invitational.

"It's awesome," said Sullivan, who passed Broadneck's Luke Gilman a mile into the Annapolis trail and didn't lose a step en route to a time of 16 minutes, 52.6 seconds. "There's a hill around the mile and 2-mile (marks). That's the most brutal part. Other than that, it's a nice course. I like the woods."
