With 104 years of history, it's amazing that Silas First Baptist Church of Severna Park has been graced with only a handful of pastors.

And for nearly two decades, there has been one minister leading the little historic church bridged between Severna Park and Millersville.

A special service will be held at a 7 p.m. today to kick off a four-day celebration of the 19th anniversary since the Rev. Jesse Eugene Young became the church's fourth pastor.

"I want to be able to touch all races for Christ by the evangelism and teaching and the outreach ministries of Silas," the Rev. Young said.
